Details: DIY Sweethat - Two Part Class
Level of Experience: Beginners Skills for either Knit or Crochet
Recommended Age Group: 8 and up
Class Size: 5 (Minimum Enrollment 2)
Instructor: Kira Dulaney
Materials: hat pattern of your choice and the yarn, needles/hooks, and notions called for in your pattern (Not included in the cost of registration. All materals available for purchase in the store).
Class Description
Come make a hat for yourself or as a Valentine's present for your sweetie. You can choose any knit or crochet hat pattern you'd like to work on -- we suggest Kira's Seeded Rib Hat for those making their first knit hat or her Mod Cap for those making their first crocheted hat.
This class is two sessions and meets on Tuesday 2.2.10 and 2.9.10
About The Instructor
Kira first learned the basics of crochet around age three and knitting around five. Her attention soon moved to cross stitch, sewing, and other crafty pursuits, then she re-taught herself to knit while in college. She studied theatrical costume design and worked as a costume designer in and around San Francisco for several years. The research she has done in historical clothing is a strong influence on her design sense, and many Kira K Designs patterns reference styles from the 1920s through the 1960s. Her designs tend toward garments with clean lines and intriguing details that are interesting to knit and easy to wear.
